That was tough - probably the most mentally challenging race I've done to date. As always, a full report in glorious detail will follow in the weeks to come, but the jist of the day is:
Swim - I went steady
Bike - I went hard (strong winds put pay to faster bike splits)
Run - I was in the hurt box
Swim: 54:31 (PB)
Transition 1: 2:26
Bike: 4:49:20 (PB)
Transition 2: 2:02
Run: 3:22:05
Finish: 9:10:24 (PB)
1st M18-24 age-group and 16th overall (4th amateur overall). I'm heading back to Kona!
