I've been anxiously awaiting the release of details for this year's race, and now they're here! There are a few changes to the race this year, most noticably the fact that it is no longer an 'Ironman' branded event. With this change brings a new and exciting race distance - 1km swim - 100km cycle - 10km run - hence, 111 Monaco.
The event, which will take place on September 5th, is in one of the most elegant locations imaginable. It is also widely regarded as a tough course, with the high September temperatures and technical climbs and descents throughout the bike. The course takes athletes through the famous Formula 1 tunnel and past the Monte Carlo Casino.
Needless to say, this is a race I'm looking forward to!
